Exodus 21:16

¹⁶^(A)“Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found ^(B)in possession of him, shall be put to death.

New International Version

¹⁶“Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death,^(A) whether the victim has been sold^(B) or is still in the kidnapper’s possession.

⁴If the stolen beast ^(A)is found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox or a donkey or a sheep, ^(B)he shall pay double.

⁴If the stolen animal is found alive in their possession^(A)—whether ox or donkey or sheep—they must pay back double.^(B)
