¹³ This is what everyone who ^[a]is numbered shall give: half a ^[b]shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (^(A)the shekel is twenty ^[c]gerahs), half a shekel as a ^[d]contribution to Yahweh. ¹⁴ Everyone who ^[e]is numbered, from twenty years old and over, shall give the ^[f]contribution to Yahweh. ¹⁵ The rich shall not pay more and the poor shall not pay less than the half shekel when you give the ^[g]contribution to Yahweh to make atonement for your souls. ¹⁶ And you shall take the atonement money from the sons of Israel and shall give it for the service of the tent of meeting, that it may be a remembrance for the sons of Israel before Yahweh, to make atonement for your souls.”

⁵ ‘^(A)Take from among you a ^[a]contribution to Yahweh; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as a ^[b]contribution to Yahweh: gold, silver, and ^[c]bronze,

²² Then all whose hearts were willing, both men and women, came and brought brooches and ^[a]earrings and signet rings and bracelets, all articles of gold; so did every man who waved it as a wave offering of gold to Yahweh.

²⁹ The sons of Israel—all the men and women whose heart was willing to bring material for all the work, which Yahweh had commanded through the hand of Moses to do—brought a ^(A)freewill offering to Yahweh.

³ Moreover, in my pleasure in the house of my God, the treasure I have of gold and silver, I give to the house of my God, over and above all that I have already prepared for the holy ^[a]house, ⁴ namely, ^[b](A)3,000 talents of gold, of ^(B)the gold of Ophir, and ^[c]7,000 talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the ^[d]buildings; ⁵ of gold for the things of gold and of silver for the things of silver, that is, for all the work done by the hand of craftsmen. Who then would offer willingly ^[e]to ordain himself this day to Yahweh?”

⁶ Then ^(C)the commanders of the fathers’ households, and the commanders of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with ^(D)the commanders of the king’s work, offered willingly; ⁷ and for the service for the house of God they gave 5,000 talents and 10,000 ^[f](E)darics of gold, and 10,000 talents of silver, and 18,000 talents of brass, and 100,000 talents of iron. ^8 [g]And whoever possessed precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh, ^[h]in the care of ^(F)Jehiel the Gershonite. ⁹ Then the people were glad because they had offered so willingly, for they made their freewill offering to Yahweh ^(G)with a whole heart, and King David also was exceedingly glad.
