¹⁷ And take this staff in your hand that you will perform the signs with.”^(A)

⁸ “Take the staff^(A) and assemble the community. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will yield its water. You will bring out water for them from the rock and provide drink for the community and their livestock.”

⁹ So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence^(B) just as He had commanded him.

²⁶ And the Lord of Hosts will brandish a whip against him as He did when He struck Midian at the rock of Oreb;^(A) and He will raise His staff over the sea as He did in Egypt.
