Exodus 4:22-24

22 Then say to Pharaoh, ‘The Lord says, “Israel is like an oldest son to me. 23 I told you, ‘Let my son go. Then he will be able to worship me.’ But you refused to let him go. So I will kill your oldest son.” ’ ”
24 On the way to Egypt, Moses stopped for the night. There the Lord met him and was about to kill him.

New International Version
22 Then say to Pharaoh, ‘This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son,(A) 23 and I told you, “Let my son go,(B) so he may worship(C) me.” But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.’”(D)
24 At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses[a] and was about to kill(E) him.
