³² They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar,^(A) as the Lord commanded^(B) Moses.

⁸ “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

¹⁰ Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean,^(A) though not every one of you.”^(B)

²² let us draw near to God^(A) with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings,^(B) having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience^(C) and having our bodies washed with pure water.^(D)
