Moses Confronts Pharaoh

5 Later, Moses and Aaron went in and said to Pharaoh, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival for me in the wilderness.”^(A)

⁷ “Don’t continue to supply the people with straw for making bricks, as before. They must go and gather straw for themselves.

¹⁸ When the priests carrying the ark of the Lord’s covenant came up from the middle of the Jordan, and their feet^[a] stepped out on solid ground, the water of the Jordan resumed its course, flowing over all the banks as before.

²⁹ By faith they crossed the Red Sea as though they were on dry land. When the Egyptians attempted to do this, they were drowned.^(A)
