²¹ And ^(A)they said to them, “^(B)May the Lord look upon you and judge you, because you have ^(C)made ^[a]us repulsive in Pharaoh’s sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us!”

¹¹ Then ^(A)they said to Moses, “Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, ^[a]bringing us out of Egypt?

²⁴ So the people ^(A)grumbled at Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”

² But the whole congregation of the sons of Israel ^(A)grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.

² So the people ^(A)quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water so that we may drink!” And Moses said to them, “^(B)Why do you quarrel with me? ^(C)Why do you test the Lord?” ³ But the people were thirsty for water there; and ^[a]they ^(D)grumbled against Moses and said, “Why is it that you have you brought us up from Egypt, to kill ^[b]us and ^[c]our children and ^[d](E)our livestock with thirst?”

The Golden Calf

32 Now when the people saw that Moses ^(A)delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled around Aaron and said to him, “Come, ^(B)make us ^[a]a god who will go before us; for ^(C)this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt—we do not know what happened to him.”

The People Complain

11 Now the people became like ^(A)those who complain of adversity ^(B)in the ears of the Lord; and the Lord heard them and His anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some at the outskirts of the camp.

⁴ Now the ^(A)rabble who were among them ^[a]had greedy cravings; and the sons of Israel also wept again and said, “^(B)Who will give us ^[b]meat to eat?

The Murmuring of Miriam and Aaron

12 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married (for he had married a ^(A)Cushite woman);
