If you refuse to let them go, I will send a plague of frogs(A) on your whole country. The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people,(B) and into your ovens and kneading troughs.(C) The frogs will come up on you and your people and all your officials.’”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff(D) over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs(E) come up on the land of Egypt.’”

So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs(F) came up and covered the land. But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts;(G) they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray(H) to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices(I) to the Lord.”

Moses said to Pharaoh, “I leave to you the honor of setting the time(J) for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.”

10 “Tomorrow,” Pharaoh said.

Moses replied, “It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God.(K) 11 The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.”

12 After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh. 13 And the Lord did what Moses asked.(L) The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. 14 They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them.

“‘Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams you may eat any that have fins and scales. 10 But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales—whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water—you are to regard as unclean.(A) 11 And since you are to regard them as unclean, you must not eat their meat; you must regard their carcasses as unclean.(B) 12 Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be regarded as unclean by you.(C)

41 “‘Every creature that moves along the ground is to be regarded as unclean; it is not to be eaten. 42 You are not to eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is unclean. 43 Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures.(A) Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them. 44 I am the Lord your God;(B) consecrate yourselves(C) and be holy,(D) because I am holy.(E) Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground.(F) 45 I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt(G) to be your God;(H) therefore be holy, because I am holy.(I)

46 “‘These are the regulations concerning animals, birds, every living thing that moves about in the water and every creature that moves along the ground. 47 You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.(J)’”
