²³ For ^(A)the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; but when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will ^(B)not allow the ^(C)destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.

^16 (A)When the angel extended his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, ^(B)the Lord relented of the disaster and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough! Now drop your hand!” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

¹⁵ And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it; but as he was about to destroy it, the Lord saw and ^(A)was sorry about the catastrophe, and said to the destroying angel, “It is enough; now relax your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing floor of ^[a]Ornan the Jebusite.

²⁸ By faith he ^[a](A)kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that ^(B)the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch them.
