²⁴ “‘Make an altar^(A) of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings^(B) and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name^(C) to be honored, I will come to you and bless^(D) you.

¹⁵ “Be careful not to make a treaty^(A) with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute^(B) themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.^(C)

The Fellowship Offering

3 “‘If your offering is a fellowship offering,^(A) and you offer an animal from the herd, whether male or female, you are to present before the Lord an animal without defect.^(B)

¹⁰ just as the fat is removed from the ox^[a](A) sacrificed as a fellowship offering.^(B) Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.^(C)

¹² The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood^(A) and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat^(B) of the fellowship offerings^(C) on it.

⁴ and an ox^[a](A) and a ram for a fellowship offering^(B) to sacrifice before the Lord, together with a grain offering mixed with olive oil. For today the Lord will appear to you.^(C)’”

²¹ When anyone brings from the herd or flock^(A) a fellowship offering^(B) to the Lord to fulfill a special vow or as a freewill offering,^(C) it must be without defect or blemish^(D) to be acceptable.^(E)

¹⁴ There they are to present their offerings to the Lord: a year-old male lamb without defect^(A) for a burnt offering, a year-old ewe lamb without defect for a sin offering,^(B) a ram^(C) without defect for a fellowship offering,^(D)

² who invited them to the sacrifices^(A) to their gods.^(B) The people ate the sacrificial meal and bowed down before these gods.
