⁹ “‘Will you steal^(A) and murder,^(B) commit adultery^(C) and perjury,^[a](D) burn incense to Baal^(E) and follow other gods^(F) you have not known,

⁴ For they have forsaken^(A) me and made this a place of foreign gods^(B); they have burned incense^(C) in it to gods that neither they nor their ancestors nor the kings of Judah ever knew, and they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent.^(D)

³ because of the evil^(A) they have done. They aroused my anger^(B) by burning incense^(C) to and worshiping other gods^(D) that neither they nor you nor your ancestors^(E) ever knew.
