^40 (A)“For Aaron's sons you shall make coats and sashes and caps. You shall make them ^(B)for glory and beauty.

²⁹ “The holy garments of Aaron ^(A)shall be for his sons after him; they shall ^(B)be anointed in them and ordained in them.

¹⁰ and ^(A)the finely worked garments,^[a] the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests,

Making the Priestly Garments

39 From the ^(A)blue and purple and scarlet yarns they made ^(B)finely woven garments,^[a] for ministering in the Holy Place. They made the holy garments for Aaron, ^(C)as the Lord had commanded Moses.

^2 (D)He made the ephod of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen.

⁷ And he put ^(A)the coat on him and tied the sash round his waist and clothed him with the robe and put the ephod on him and tied the skilfully woven band of the ephod round him, binding it to him with the band.^[a]

³⁰ Then ^(A)Moses took some of the anointing oil and of the blood that was on the altar and sprinkled it on Aaron and his garments, and also on his sons and his sons' garments. So he consecrated Aaron and his garments, and his sons and his sons' garments with him.

²⁶ And strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son. And Aaron ^(A)shall be gathered to his people and shall die there.”

^28 (A)And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son. And Aaron died there ^(B)on the top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

⁵ Then ^(A)you shall take the garments, and put on Aaron the coat and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastpiece, and gird him with the ^(B)skilfully woven band of the ephod. ^6 (C)And you shall set the turban on his head and put the holy crown on the turban. ⁷ You shall take ^(D)the anointing oil and pour it on his head and anoint him. ⁸ Then you ^(E)shall bring his sons and put coats on them, ⁹ and you shall gird Aaron and his sons with ^(F)sashes and bind caps on them. And ^(G)the priesthood shall be theirs by a statute for ever. Thus you shall ^(H)ordain Aaron and his sons.
