¹³ “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ^(A)‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who ^(B)sanctifies^[a] you.

² “Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: ^(A)‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.

^7 (A)Consecrate^[a] yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁹ But Joshua said to the people, ^(A)“You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a ^(B)holy God. He is ^(C)a jealous God; ^(D)He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

⁴ just as ^(A)He chose us in Him ^(B)before the foundation of the world, that we should ^(C)be holy and without blame before Him in love,

⁷ For God did not call us to uncleanness, ^(A)but in holiness.
