²¹ The Lord instructed Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, make sure you do all the wonders before Pharaoh that I have put within your power. But I will harden his heart^[a](A) so that he won’t let the people go.

³ But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart^(A) and multiply My signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.

¹² But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart^(A) and he did not listen to them, as the Lord had told Moses.

²⁰ But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,^(A) and he did not let the Israelites go.

²⁷ But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,^(A) and he was unwilling to let them go.

¹⁰ Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,^(A) and he would not let the Israelites go out of his land.

⁴ I will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will pursue them. Then I will receive glory by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh.” So the Israelites did this.^(A)

⁷ he took 600 of the best chariots and all the rest of the chariots of Egypt, with officers in each one.

³⁰ But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us travel through his land, for the Lord your God had made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate in order to hand him over to you, as has now taken place.

²⁰ For it was the Lord’s intention to harden their hearts, so that they would engage Israel in battle, be completely destroyed without mercy, and be annihilated, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
