17 When the Guardian Angels stood still, so did the wheels, for the spirit of the Guardian Angels was in the wheels.[a]

18 Then the glory of the Lord moved from the door of the Temple and stood above the Guardian Angels. 19 And as I watched, the Guardian Angels flew with their wheels beside them to the east gate of the Temple. And the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

  1. Ezekiel 10:17 for the spirit of the Guardian Angels was in the wheels. That is, the wheel was a living part of the bodies of the cherubim. Hence it could not be separated from the cherubim.

17 When the cherubim stood still, they also stood still; and when the cherubim rose, they rose with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in them.(A)

18 Then the glory(B) of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.(C) 19 While I watched, the cherubim spread their wings and rose from the ground, and as they went, the wheels went with them.(D) They stopped at the entrance of the east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory(E) of the God of Israel was above them.
