¹⁷“Or if I bring a sword^(A) against that country and say, ‘Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill its people and their animals,^(B)

⁹The voice of the Lord cries to the city
(and he shall save those who fear his name^[a]):
Hear, O tribe and assembly of the city!^[b]

⁹Listen! The Lord is calling to the city—
and to fear your name is wisdom—
“Heed the rod^(A) and the One who appointed it.^[a]
