14 Your fame spread among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect, through My splendor, which I bestowed on you.” It is a declaration of Adonai.
15 “But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a harlot. You poured out your enticements on everyone who passed by—they were his. 16 You took your garments, made high places decked out with various colors and fornicated on them—this should not happen, it should not be!

14 And your fame(A) spread among the nations on account of your beauty,(B) because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign Lord.(C)
15 “‘But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by(D) and your beauty became his.(E) 16 You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places,(F) where you carried on your prostitution.(G) You went to him, and he possessed your beauty.[a]
