Ezekiel 17:10-12

10 Although it has been planted, will it thrive? When the east wind touches it, won’t it shrivel up completely? On the very bed where it had sprouted, it will wither away.
11 The word of the Lord came to me. 12 Tell this to the rebellious house.
Don’t you know what these things mean? Tell them this. You saw how the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem. He took its king and its officials and brought them back to Babylon with him.

10 It has been planted,(A) but will it thrive? Will it not wither completely when the east wind strikes it—wither away in the plot where it grew?(B)’”
11 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 12 “Say to this rebellious people, ‘Do you not know what these things mean?(C)’ Say to them: ‘The king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and carried off her king and her nobles,(D) bringing them back with him to Babylon.(E)
