3 “As surely as I live, says the Lord God, you will not use this ·saying [proverb] in Israel anymore. 4 Every ·living thing [soul] belongs to me. The ·life [soul] of the ·parent [father] is mine, and the ·life [soul] of the child is mine. The ·person [soul] who sins is the one who will die.
5 “Suppose a ·person [man] is good and does what is ·fair [just] and right.

3 “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb(A) in Israel. 4 For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins(B) is the one who will die.(C)
