Ezekiel 20:6-8
Contemporary English Version
6 I swore that I would rescue them from Egypt and lead them to a land I had already chosen. This land was rich with milk and honey and was the most splendid land of all. 7 I told them to get rid of their disgusting idols and not to sin by worshiping the gods of Egypt. I reminded them that I was the Lord their God, 8 but they still rebelled against me. They refused to listen and kept on worshiping their idols and foreign gods.
In my anger, I decided to punish the Israelites in Egypt.

Ezekiel 20:6-8
New International Version
6 On that day I swore(A) to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey,(B) the most beautiful of all lands.(C) 7 And I said to them, “Each of you, get rid of the vile images(D) you have set your eyes on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols(E) of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.(F)”
8 “‘But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me;(G) they did not get rid of the vile images they had set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt.(H) So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in Egypt.(I)
