28 Her prophets plaster with whitewash for them by seeing false visions and lying divinations,(A) and they say, ‘This is what the Lord God says,’ when the Lord has not spoken. 29 The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery.(B) They have oppressed the poor and needy and unlawfully exploited the foreign resident. 30 I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall(C) and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it,(D) but I found no one.

28 Her prophets whitewash(A) these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations.(B) They say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says’—when the Lord has not spoken.(C) 29 The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery;(D) they oppress the poor and needy and mistreat the foreigner,(E) denying them justice.(F)
30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall(G) and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.(H)
