31 You have followed the path of your sister, so I will put her cup in your hand.”(A)
32 This is what the Lord God says:
“You will drink your sister’s cup,(B)
which is deep and wide.
You will be an object of[a] ridicule and scorn,
for it holds so much.(C)
33 You will be filled with drunkenness and grief,
with a cup of devastation and desolation,
the cup of your sister Samaria.
34 You will drink it and drain it;
then you will gnaw its broken pieces,
and tear your breasts.
For I have spoken.”
This is the declaration of the Lord God.
35 Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: “Because you have forgotten me(D) and cast me behind your back,(E) you must bear the consequences of your indecency and promiscuity.”

it will bring scorn and derision,(C)

33 You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow,
the cup of ruin and desolation,
the cup of your sister Samaria.(E)
34 You will drink it(F) and drain it dry
and chew on its pieces—
and you will tear your breasts.
I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord.(G)
35 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Since you have forgotten(H) me and turned your back on me,(I) you must bear(J) the consequences of your lewdness and prostitution.”
