6 Therefore this is what the Lord God says:
‘Because you have (A)made your heart
Like the heart of God,
7 Therefore, behold, I am going to bring (B)strangers against you,
The (C)most ruthless of the nations.
And they will draw their swords
Against the beauty of your wisdom
And profane your splendor.
8 They will bring you down to the pit,
And you will die the (D)death of those who are killed
In the heart of the seas.

“‘Because you think you are wise,
as wise as a god,
7 I am going to bring foreigners against you,
the most ruthless of nations;(A)
they will draw their swords against your beauty and wisdom(B)
and pierce your shining splendor.(C)
8 They will bring you down to the pit,(D)
and you will die a violent death(E)
in the heart of the seas.(F)
