8 They will thrust you down to the pit,
and you will die a violent death[a]
in the heart of the seas.
9 Will you indeed still say[b] “I am a god!”
before the face of your killers?[c]
And in fact you are a human[d] and not a god
in the hand of those who pierce you.[e]
10 You will die the death of the uncircumcised
by the hand of strangers,
for I myself[f] have spoken!” declares[g] the Lord Yahweh.

You will be but a mortal, not a god,(D)
in the hands of those who slay you.(E)
10 You will die the death of the uncircumcised(F)
at the hands of foreigners.
I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”
