14 Suppose I say to a sinful person, ‘You can be sure you will die.’ And then they turn away from their sin. They do what is fair and right. 15 They return things they take to make sure loans are repaid. They give back what they have stolen. They obey my rules that give life. They do not do what is evil. Then you can be sure they will live. They will not die. 16 None of the sins they have committed will be held against them. They have done what is fair and right. So you can be sure they will live.

14 And if I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ but they then turn away from their sin and do what is just(A) and right— 15 if they give back what they took in pledge(B) for a loan, return what they have stolen,(C) follow the decrees that give life, and do no evil—that person will surely live; they will not die.(D) 16 None of the sins(E) that person has committed will be remembered against them. They have done what is just and right; they will surely live.(F)
