  1. 37:14 The Lord is promising that he will bring his people back from exile in Babylon. As prisoners in Babylon, the Israelites think that they have no hope for good things in the future. They are like bones that are dead and dry. But God promises to give them new life.
  2. 37:16 Judah was the Israelite kingdom in the south. Ephraim was a name for the Israelite kingdom in the north.
