16 Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, behold, I am going to (A)break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread by (B)weight and with anxiety, and drink water by (C)measure and in horror, 17 because bread and water will be scarce; and they will tremble with one another and (D)waste away in their guilt.

The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair,(B) 17 for food and water will be scarce.(C) They will be appalled at the sight of each other and will waste away because of[a] their sin.(D)
