16 And the altar hearth was twelve[a] cubits in length and twelve[b] cubits in width[c]; it was squared on its four sides.[d] 17 And the ledge was fourteen[e] cubits in length with fourteen[f] cubits its width[g] to all four of its sides, and a rim was all around it of one-half cubit.[h] And the gutter[i] for it was a cubit[j] all around, and its steps were facing east.”

18 And he said to me, “Son of man,[k] thus says the Lord Yahweh: ‘These are the statutes of the altar on the day when it is made,[l] to sacrifice a burnt offering on it and to sprinkle blood on it.

18 And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord God; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
