⁵ “Thus says Lord Yahweh, ‘A ^(A)calamitous evil, a unique calamitous evil, behold, it is coming! ⁶ An end has come; the end has come! It has ^(B)awakened against you; behold, it is coming! ⁷ Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. The ^(C)time has come; the ^(D)day is near—confusion rather than joyful shouting on the mountains.

¹⁰ ‘Behold, the day! Behold, it is coming! Your doom has gone forth; the ^(A)rod has blossomed; arrogance has budded.

²⁹ But this I say, brothers, ^(A)the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none; ³⁰ and those who cry, as though they did not cry; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess; ³¹ and those who use the world, as though they did not ^(B)make full use of it. For ^(C)the form of this world is passing away.

^8 (A)You too be patient; ^(B)strengthen your hearts, for ^(C)the coming of the Lord is ^(D)at hand. ^9 (E)Do not groan, ^(F)brothers, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged. Behold, ^(G)the Judge is standing ^[a](H)right at the ^[b]door.
