³ Then the glory of the God of Israel^(A) rose from above the cherub where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. He called to the man clothed in linen and carrying writing equipment.

¹⁸ Then the glory of the Lord moved away from the threshold of the temple^(A) and stopped above the cherubim.^(B)

God’s Glory Leaves Jerusalem

²² Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, lifted their wings,^(A) and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. ²³ The glory of the Lord^(B) rose up from within the city and stopped on the mountain^(C) east of the city.^[a](D)

² and I saw the glory of the God of Israel^(A) coming from the east.^(B) His voice sounded like the roar of a huge torrent,^(C) and the earth shone with his glory.^{(D) 3} The vision I saw^(E) was like the one I had seen when he^[a] came to destroy the city,^(F) and like the ones I had seen by the Chebar Canal.^(G) I fell facedown.^{(H) 4} The glory of the Lord entered the temple by way of the gate that faced east.^{(I) 5} Then the Spirit lifted me up^(J) and brought me to the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.^(K)

⁴ Then the man brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked, and the glory of the Lord filled his temple.^(A) And I fell facedown.^(B)
