5 But to the others He said in my hearing, “Go through the city after him and strike; do not let your eye have pity and do not spare. 6 [a]Utterly (A)slay old men, young men, maidens, little children, and women, but do not (B)touch any man on whom is the mark; and you shall (C)start from My sanctuary.” So they started with the [b]elders who were before the [c]temple. 7 And He said to them, “(D)Defile the [d]temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” Thus they went out and struck down the people in the city.

5 As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity(A) or compassion.(B) 6 Slaughter(C) the old men, the young men and women, the mothers and children,(D) but do not touch anyone who has the mark.(E) Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the old men(F) who were in front of the temple.(G)
7 Then he said to them, “Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain.(H) Go!” So they went out and began killing throughout the city.
