¹² Then all the assembly answered and said with a loud voice, “Yes! As you have said, so we must do.

¹⁹ And they ^(A)gave their promise that they would put away their wives; and being ^(B)guilty, they presented a ram of the flock as their ^(C)trespass offering.

¹² So they said, “We will restore it, and will require nothing from them; we will do as you say.”

Then I called the priests, ^(A)and required an oath from them that they would do according to this promise.

²⁵ So I ^(A)contended with them and ^[a]cursed them, struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and made them ^(B)swear by God, saying, “You shall not give your daughters as wives to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons or yourselves.
