Then (A)Jeshua with his sons and brothers stood united with Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of [a]Judah and the sons of Henadad with their sons and brothers the Levites, to oversee the workmen in the temple of God.

10 Now when the builders had (B)laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, [b]the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord (C)according to the [c]directions of King David of Israel. 11 (D)They sang, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, saying, “(E)For He is good, for His lovingkindness is upon Israel forever.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

Joshua(A) and his sons and brothers and Kadmiel and his sons (descendants of Hodaviah[a]) and the sons of Henadad and their sons and brothers—all Levites—joined together in supervising those working on the house of God.

10 When the builders laid(B) the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets,(C) and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise(D) the Lord, as prescribed by David(E) king of Israel.(F) 11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:

“He is good;
    his love toward Israel endures forever.”(G)

And all the people gave a great shout(H) of praise to the Lord, because the foundation(I) of the house of the Lord was laid.
