Ezra 9:14-15

14 shall we again violate your commandments by intermarrying with these abominable peoples? Would you not become so angered with us as to destroy us without remnant or survivor? 15 Lord, God of Israel, you are just; yet we have been spared, the remnant we are today. Here we are before you in our sins. Because of all this, we can no longer stand in your presence.”

14 Shall we then break your commands again and intermarry(A) with the peoples who commit such detestable practices? Would you not be angry enough with us to destroy us,(B) leaving us no remnant(C) or survivor? 15 Lord, the God of Israel, you are righteous!(D) We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand(E) in your presence.(F)”
