¹⁴ So the Jewish elders continued successfully with the building under the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo.^(A) They finished the building according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus,^(B) Darius, and King Artaxerxes^(C) of Persia.

⁶ So we rebuilt the wall until the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had the will to keep working.^(A)

⁸ This is what the Lord says:

¹⁰ I will fill you with people, with the whole house of Israel in its entirety.^(A) The cities will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
