10 Now Ezra had determined in his heart to study the law of the Lord, obey it, and teach(A) its statutes and ordinances in Israel.

all the people gathered together(A) at the square in front of the Water Gate.(B) They asked Ezra the scribe(C) to bring the book of the law of Moses(D) that the Lord had given Israel. On the first day of the seventh month,(E) Ezra the priest(F) brought the law(G) before the assembly of men, women, and all who could listen with understanding. While he was facing the square in front of the Water Gate,(H) he read out of it from daybreak until noon before the men, the women, and those who could understand. All the people listened attentively[a] to the book of the law.(I)
