1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

⁸God called^(A) the vault “sky.”^(B) And there was evening, and there was morning^(C)—the second day.

⁸And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

¹⁴Thick clouds^(A) veil him, so he does not see us^(B)
as he goes about in the vaulted heavens.’^(C)

¹⁴Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
