Genesis 12:5-7

New King James Version

⁵Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and ^(A)the ^[a]people whom they had acquired ^(B)in Haran, and they ^(C)departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. ⁶Abram ^(D)passed through the land to the place of Shechem, ^(E)as far as ^[b]the terebinth tree of Moreh. ^(F)And the Canaanites were then in the land.

⁷^(G)Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, ^(H)“To your ^[c]descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an ^(I)altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

⁵He took his wife Sarai,^(A) his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated^(B) and the people^(C) they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan,^(D) and they arrived there.

⁶Abram traveled through the land^(E) as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh^(F) at Shechem.^(G) At that time the Canaanites^(H) were in the land. ⁷The Lord appeared to Abram^(I) and said, “To your offspring^[a] I will give this land.^(J)”^(K) So he built an altar there to the Lord,^(L) who had appeared to him.
