¹³ Then ^[a]a survivor came and told Abram the ^(A)Hebrew. Now he was residing by the ^[b](B)oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, and they were ^[c](C)allies with Abram.

²⁴ That place was called the Valley of ^[a]Eshcol, because of the cluster which the sons of Israel cut off from there.

⁹ For when they went up to ^(A)the ^[a]Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the ^[b]sons of Israel so that they did not go into the land which the Lord had given them.

²⁴ Then ^(A)they turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the Valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.
