Genesis 14:13-15

13 Then one who had escaped came, and told Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the oaks[a] of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and of Aner; these were allies of Abram. 14 When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. 15 And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and routed them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus.

New International Version
13 A man who had escaped came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew.(A) Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre(B) the Amorite, a brother[a] of Eshkol(C) and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram. 14 When Abram heard that his relative(D) had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained(E) men born in his household(F) and went in pursuit as far as Dan.(G) 15 During the night Abram divided his men(H) to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.(I)
