Genesis 15:10-12
New Life Version
10 Then Abram brought all these to Him, and cut them in two. And he laid each half beside the other. But he did not cut the birds. 11 When the meat-eating birds came down upon the dead animals, Abram made them go away.
12 When the sun was going down, Abram went into a sleep as if he were dead. And much fear and darkness came upon him.

10 Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other;(A) the birds, however, he did not cut in half.(B) 11 Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses,(C) but Abram drove them away.
12 As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep,(D) and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him.
