⁵ And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and ^(A)count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “^(B)So shall your ^[a]descendants be.”

^4 (A)I will multiply your ^[a]descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your ^[b]descendants all these lands; and ^(B)by your ^[c]descendants all the nations of the earth ^[d]shall be blessed,

²² As the ^(A)heavenly ^[a]lights cannot be counted, and the ^(B)sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will ^(C)multiply the ^[b]descendants of My servant David and the ^(D)Levites who serve Me.’”

¹² Therefore even from one man, and ^(A)one who was as good as dead ^[a]at that, there were born descendants who were ^(B)just as the stars of heaven in number, and as the innumerable grains of sand along the seashore.
