Hagar and Ishmael

16 Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, ^(A)had borne him no children. And she had ^(B)an Egyptian maidservant whose name was ^(C)Hagar.

³ So she said, “Here is ^(A)my maid Bilhah; go in to her, ^(B)and she will bear a child on my knees, ^(C)that I also may ^[a]have children by her.”

^25 (A)These were the sons of Bilhah, ^(B)whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, and she bore these to Jacob: seven persons in all.
