¹² For the generations to come^(A) every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised,^(B) including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. ¹³ Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised.^(C) My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.^(D)

⁴ When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him,^(A) as God commanded him.

²¹ On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child,^(A) he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.^(B)

⁵ So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles^(A) among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?^(B)

⁶ For in Christ Jesus^(A) neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value.^(B) The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.^(C)

¹⁵ Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything;^(A) what counts is the new creation.^(B)
