Genesis 18:19-21

19 I have chosen him to teach his family to obey me forever and to do what is right and fair. If they do, I will give Abraham many descendants, just as I promised.”
20 The Lord said, “Abraham, I have heard that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah are doing all kinds of evil things. 21 Now I am going down to see for myself if those people really are that bad. If they aren't, I would like to know.”

New International Version
19 For I have chosen him(A), so that he will direct his children(B) and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord(C) by doing what is right and just,(D) so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”(E)
20 Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom(F) and Gomorrah is so great(G) and their sin so grievous(H) 21 that I will go down(I) and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”
