2 he said, “Please, my lords,[a] come aside into your servant’s house for the night, and bathe your feet; you can get up early to continue your journey.” But they replied, “No, we will pass the night in the town square.”(A) 3 He urged them so strongly, however, that they turned aside to his place and entered his house. He prepared a banquet for them, baking unleavened bread, and they dined.
4 (B)Before they went to bed, the townsmen of Sodom, both young and old—all the people to the last man—surrounded the house.

2 “My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet(A) and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”
“No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”(B)
3 But he insisted(C) so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house.(D) He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast,(E) and they ate.(F) 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom(G)—both young and old—surrounded the house.
