²¹ So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to come over the man,^(A) and he slept. God took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place.

¹² As the sun was setting, a deep sleep^(A) came over Abram, and suddenly great terror and darkness descended on him.

¹² So David took the spear and the water jug by Saul’s head, and they went their way. No one saw them, no one knew, and no one woke up; they all remained asleep because a deep sleep from the Lord^(A) came over them.

¹⁸ While he was speaking to me, I fell into a deep sleep,^(A) with my face to the ground. Then he touched me, made me stand up,^(B)

⁹ I heard the words he said, and when I heard them I fell into a deep sleep,^[a](A) with my face to the ground.

⁴³ And he came again and found them sleeping, because they could not keep their eyes open.
