Genesis 21:30-32

30 He said, “These seven ewe lambs you shall accept from my hand in order that you may be a witness for me that I dug this well.”(A) 31 Therefore that place was called Beer-sheba,[a] because there both of them swore an oath.(B) 32 When they had made a covenant at Beer-sheba, Abimelech, with Phicol the commander of his army, left and returned to the land of the Philistines.

31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.
32 Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
