11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven. The angel said, “Abraham! Abraham!”

Abraham answered, “Yes.”

12 The angel said, “Don’t kill your son or hurt him in any way. Now I can see that you respect God. I see that you have not kept your son, your only son, from me.”

13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a male sheep. Its horns were caught in a bush. So Abraham went and took the sheep and killed it. He offered it as a whole burnt offering to God. Abraham’s son was saved.

“Here I am,”(D) he replied.

12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God,(E) because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.(F)

13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns.(G) He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.(H)
