9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood, and bound Isaac his son and placed him on the altar, on top of the wood.(A) 10 Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to [a]kill his son.(B) 11 But the [b]Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He answered, “Here I am.”

9 When they reached the place God had told him about,(A) Abraham built an altar(B) there and arranged the wood(C) on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar,(D) on top of the wood. 10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife(E) to slay his son.(F) 11 But the angel of the Lord(G) called out to him from heaven,(H) “Abraham! Abraham!”(I)
“Here I am,”(J) he replied.
